The under 15 A's cricket team visited Sheikh Zayed Mosque today, and learned about the key Islamic values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence. They marveled at its vast courtyard, accommodating 32,000 worshippers (more people than vicarage road stadium), and admired the grandeur of its 1,000 columns. They were astonished to discover that the intricately woven carpet in the main hall took 1,200 people working 24 hours a day for a year to make, weighing 47 tons and even being transported in 2 planes. Overall the experience was enlightening and provided insight into Middle Eastern culture and values.
