A good crowd turned out to see the E'lite team's final match of the season, lent extra Christmas Spice by the prospect of securing a first unbeaten season in three years. With the wind making conditions difficult, the first half was strewn with errors of all kinds and the pace of MTS appeared to be cancelled out by the size of the Mill Hill D team squad. Nevertheless, MTS were able to put together some coherent passages of play that allowed strong runners such as Patel, Ogunro and Kundi to go over for a 17-0 lead.

Mill Hill responded strongly and took advantage of several handling errors which saw them score either side of half time to put the game into the balance at 17-10. Playing into the wind, it took a major defensive effort from MTS with Lawson Smith; Lurie and Rich particularly outstanding to stay in the game. The turning point came when Taylor Cummings broke down the blind side and was able to score from 30 yards out. This decided the game and MTS pressed strongly in the final quarter, enabling Ogunro to cross over for his second try.

Congratulations to the team for securing an unbeated season - the celebrations were led by Morgan Allen whose festive rugby cake, chocolate with a hint of orange, rounded the season off in style.
